Last night...
Gave Frankie 1/2 a can of wet food and watered it down so he will hopefully get some fluids in him. He did come out to the edge of the bed (body still underneath) to eat. I opened the door and put the baby gate up and he stood there meowing. The Magic/Vincent duo stayed downstairs so let him roam and he explored and let me pet him a while and I think he has had some water . . . encouraging. Frankie followed me downstairs last night. He tried making friends w/ Vincent first, giving plaintive mews, but Vinny just hissed. Then Magic came over to hiss at him from under the dining room table. After that, Frankie and I thought it best to retreat back upstairs to the room.
Frankie came to me for reassurance/petting last night. He just won't come out from under the bed on command. He will wander over to whatever room I am in and meow which is true to what his foster mom said about him wanting to be in whatever room his human's in. Also he's meowing through the bedroom door...he's ready to come out and explore, he thinks. Some time between 9:15 and 10:45 Frankie decided he would finally like to use the Little Kitty's room so I am feeling safer with how he's doing considering he did both pee and poop. While I might let him explore for a little bit when I am home he's still being held in isolation while I am at work during the day. Magic and Vincent are not keen on meeting him. I might put them in his room tomorrow night for a little bit and keep him out of it for a change of scents. As long as he keeps eating and eliminating it's all good.
This morning, Magic jumped the gate into my room and ate the rest of Frankie's supper from last night...then she played with his catnip banana. She was sitting in there, doin' her own thing a while and when I picked her up to close him up for the day...she still smelled like catnip. LOL He remained in hiding. This morning it was funny watching her haul her ass over the gate and then pig on his dinner from last night. I guess she doesn't consider him a threat. Maybe just maybe they will bond.
